INDEPENDENCE DAY

70 Edgedale Road, St. Catharines, Burgoyne woods park 128

On Ukrainian Independence Day, together with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Niagara Chapter, we organized a charity event to unite Ukrainians in the Niagara region.

In this difficult time of war for Ukraine, when our country is defending its borders against Russian aggression and fighting for its right to be a free and independent state, we, together with our partners, organized a festive event dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine. To unite our citizens and show the world that Ukrainians are one family.

Representatives of various churches in the Niagara region were invited to this event, namely: Ukrainian Catholic Church of Cyril and Methodius, Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. George, Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Ukrainian Catholic Church of St. John the Theologian. They held a joint prayer for peace in Ukraine and victory in the war for the freedom of the Ukrainian people.

Various organizations were also invited, and the entire Ukrainian community raised the Ukrainian flag to the National Anthem of Ukraine.

At the same time, organizational activities included various cultural and sporting events for children and adults: sports games, relay races, and art competitions.

The event included the sale of souvenirs, barbecue, homemade pastries and sweets. The proceeds from the sale of which were transferred to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The world should know that the Ukrainian people are strong and invincible. And no matter where we are in the world, the Ukrainian nation is always united as one big family.
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes! Glory to the Armed Forces!
